Skillet
Comatose Comes Alive

Campus Correspondent Review By Jim Simmons,
Arizona State University

Few bands are able to replicate the dynamic of a studio album in their live performances like Skillet, one of melodic rock’s most powerful live acts. Over the last twelve years Skillet has rocked the faces off of countless fans and has moved countless others through the power of live music. For the first time ever fans have a chance to take that experience home.

With its first ever live DVD ComatoseComes Alive, Skillet packages that explosive live show and demonstrates the power of live music with a solid performance that will move and inspire. The DVD and CD combo showcases songs from their latest album, Comatose, which has already sold over 400,000 copies alone, combined with a few notables from previous albums.

Skillet arrives on the scene with their new drummer Jen Ledger who even steps away from her throne to add some sweet vocals to the power ballad “Yours to Hold.” Skillet also adds a live violinist and cellist to its already huge sound across several tracks to develop a vibe that is not far removed from the production value of the Comatose studio album. From start to finish the DVD demonstrates a strong example of what it’s like to be in the crowd for a Skillet concert. Skillet’s live DVD isn’t as good as its last album- it’s better.
