Hear/Say and Warner Music Group want to send you to Lollapalooza with three hundred bucks to blow!

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009 by Andy Argyrakis

Summer festival season is about to hit full swing and all eyes will certainly center on Chicago come Lollapalooza 2009 (hitting Grant Park August 7-9). Though the line-up has yet to be annouced, last year’s trifecta of headliners included Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine and Kanye West, which means there won’t likely be a shortage of major players throughout the upcoming installment. what’s with the C+ on the Hold Steady?

Friday, August 22nd, 2008 by Jeff Ehrbar

The Hold Steady’s latest, Stay Positive, isn’t as good as 2006′s Boys and Girls in America, but it is close.  “Sequestered in Memphis” is great arena rock, while J. Macsis’ banjo give “Two Crosses” the desolutory urgency reminiscent of Springsteen’s The Rising CD.  And the three song bonus closer on the CD may be the best work on the collection.   A C+, Hearsay?  C’mon.
