Sleeping At Last puts finishing touches on new project, offers last CD for free download
As Sleeping At Last is putting the finishes touches on its third studio CD, the alternative rockers are giving listeners an early reason to celebrate. Throughout the remainder of June, the group is inviting music lovers of all associations to either pay whatever they want for 2006’s Keep No Score or grab a download of the entire disc for free after telling five friends.
And upon closer examination, there’s seriously no catch- just the choice to wheel and deal Radiohead style or type out the email addresses of some pals who might be interested (without any obligation or addition to anyone’s mailing list). Not only is it a brilliant, buzz-inducing move, but a perfect primer for the highly anticipated (and yet to be titled) album, that as previously reported on these very pages, will feature engineers Greg Norman (Pelican, Russian Circles, Guided By Voices) and Bjorn Thorsrud (Smashing Pumpkins, Zwan, Dandy Warhols), plus mixing by John Goodmanson (Death Cab for Cutie, Sleater Kinney). All the details (and the downloads) are available at www.noisetrade.com/sleepingatlast.
